As our region continues to evolve, the demand for housing increases drastically, and we cannot afford to ignore this requirement. The mention of Safeguarded Land adds an extra layer of foresight, allowing for future development plans without compromising our treasured Green Belt. I believe that planned and responsible development of these areas will enhance our community, foster growth, and provide modern living standards that cater to current needs while preparing us for future growth.

As someone who has actively participated in local consultations, it pleases me to see this Local Plan carrying forward past allocations and focusing on developing Safeguarded Land. The stagnation of certain sites has been a concern, and I firmly believe that harnessing these locations will benefit us immensely. More housing means more diversity and vitality in our community, and employing a strategic approach in development will set a positive precedent for future growth. Local businesses will benefit from increased foot traffic, and the social fabric of our neighbourhood will only strengthen as a result.

There is profound concern regarding how the proposed developments will affect local ecosystems and green belt areas. Allocating sites previously removed from the Green Belt opens the door to potential overdevelopment, which could irrevocably alter the landscape and biodiversity of the region.
