The current proposal does not sufficiently engage with the realities facing our neighbourhood. While it acknowledges the need for development, it fails to address the concerns of environmental sustainability and minimising ecological footprints in our planning process. Neighbourhood Plans should not only meet housing and commercial needs but also protect and enhance local green spaces and promote biodiversity. Our plans must consider not just the amount of development required but the quality and its impact on our local environment. I would contest that this plan lacks the level of environmental foresight necessary for modern urban and rural living. Hence, an ecological framework needs to be integrated into the Neighbourhood Plan creation.
