I appreciate the Council's recognition of climate change as an immediate threat; however, I feel the proposed Local Plan lacks the necessary urgency and commitment to make a real difference. The drafted policies appear to be dictated by external regulatory changes rather than a firm local vision for sustainable growth. Our community requires bold initiatives that transcend mere compliance with government guidelines; we need innovative strategies that will prepare us for the looming challenges that climate change presents. By missing out on harnessing renewable energy sources and stringent efficiency regulations in this Local Plan, we shy away from becoming a proactive leader in climate governance, let alone ensuring our communities thrive amidst environmental changes.
