Our roads are already congested, public transport is limited, and essential services are struggling under current demand.

The additional buffer of 20% over the minimum requirement creates potential for reckless development by giving undue power to building firms, who may prioritize profit over community needs and stability. I worry that the new housing will be similarly unaffordable, benefiting only those from affluent backgrounds while stretching our local necessities beyond recognition.

This proposed plan appears ill-considered without proper evaluation of the potential consequences on our community's fabric. Striking a balance between housing numbers and real-world implications must be prioritised to avoid long-lasting adverse effects.
