The proposal to increase residential Gypsy and Traveller pitches deserves careful scrutiny. While accommodating diverse communities is essential, the current conditions do not lend themselves well to such significant changes. I'm particularly worried about the impact on local schools which are already exceeding their capacities. The social implications of introducing additional pitches have not been sufficiently examined, particularly in regard to community integration and potential cultural friction. Additionally, the plan seems oblivious to historical tensions and criticisms around infrastructure shortcomings that have been reported on numerous occasions. Adequate provisions must be established to maintain harmony in our neighbourhood. Our community’s voice must be respected and considered before drastic alterations are made to our local landscape.
