In reviewing the proposal, I have serious concerns regarding the lack of an Appropriate Assessment related to the Habitats Directive. As a biologist studying local ecosystems, I recognise the critical importance of protected European sites and the unique biodiversity they encompass. Failure to thoroughly assess the potential impact of the Local Plan on these designated areas could have irreversible consequences on both wildlife and local ecosystems. We owe it to our community and future generations to make informed decisions that prioritise ecological balance and sustainability. It would be remiss to ignore the intricacies of our natural environment in favour of expediency in planning.
